You're Right About A lot of Things

You’re right about a lot of things
but I think you’re wrong about the cost.
Once you get what you’re looking for,
 you’ll realize what you’ve lost
you’ll want to come find more,
 your eyes at my door,
 nowhere for you to be,
 no me,
 then what will you do?
Cover up your blue with shades of green and brown?
 Could you just sit down,
 rest with my memory?
Or try and find me?
 See what I’ve become?
See if you fit just the same?
See if I still know your name?
See if I still care?
If I’m still there?
I don’t think you’d dare
‘cause you’re right about a lot of things
I hope this gives you a few great songs
but I think that when you’re writing them
you’ll realize that you’re wrong
