If you give a slave a cookie

are they really free?

8 hours a day or starve?

I’m not sure I agree

because we’re given this one life

a small amount of time

and I’m supposed to spend my days on earth

trying to earn a dime?

I’m told as long as I have money I’ll be just fine

if you have it-don’t keep it all for you

because, really..

it’s wrong if you do

‘cause some slaves ain’t making it

only the ones at the top

this consumerism capitalist nonsense

has got to stop

the gap between the rich and the poor

grows every single day

but we’re gunna spend our money in battle

and time debating the right of marriage for the gays?

Really guys?

Is this really still where we’re at?

Let me try to spell it out

love is love

no matter who between

war is evil

how dare you demean

a man you’ve never known

with a family

and a home

How dare you buy a mansion and six cars

knowing how many people on this planet

will spend their every moment knowing nothing other

than what it is to starve

and the fact that I’m crying

about it doesn’t make it stop

our government is the problem

and we can’t trust the cops

We have to get off of our asses, 

you and I

if you’ve got something to give

give it a try

because this world is full of bullshit

disrespect and disregard for human life

and lies

so lets band together
